Interested in joining the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony?

New members are only added to fill vacancies and/or to achieve a balanced instrumentation. Recommendations from present members will be considered by the Music Director. There are no auditions; however, membership will be decided by the Music Director with input from the section leaders according to the ensembles balance.

The Music Director has final authority in maintaining the highest level of music excellence. Principal Chairs are decided by the Music Director and not be based on seniority but by proficiency. When there is an abundance of talent, solos are distributed as determined by the Music Director and/or section leader.

Regular attendance is expected. Members should notify either their section leader or the Music Director in the event of any absence. Irregular attendance may result in a forfeiture of concert performance for that semester at the discretion of the Music Director.

The DVWS rehearses once a week on Monday evenings from September through May. The band currently rehearses at Council Rock North High School in Newtown, PA. There are, on average, two concerts per semester that are typically held on weekend afternoons or evenings.
